Whenever a restaurant opens branding itself specifically as vegan, it can often have the affect of putting off the omnivores among us. In this case however, it is a must try restaurant for even the most dedicated carnivores. Do not be fooled into assuming that the vegan menu at this trailblazing restaurant means you will be eating a healthy green plate of kale and tofu, far from it. This is vegan junk food.

 

Located on Duke Street, this cool basement restaurant is not the most obvious from road level, nonetheless it has a cosy welcoming feel inside. If you are heading down on a weekend its best to make a booking, but if you don't, the staff are more than accommodating in finding you a table where they can.

 

The menu is completely vegetarian friendly with a vegan option for most dishes, featuring deep fried veg, seitan burgers, chargrilled veg skewers and much more. There really is something for everyone on the menu and despite the fact that it is vegetarian and vegan friendly, you do not miss out on that junk food hit we all occasionally crave.Good for people new to vegan food, long time veggies and even those who have no interest in a vegan diet at all.
