Amsterdam is one of Europes most popular cities, there is a huge amount of things to do and see within the typical weekend break timeline that most people choose, it can be a bit overwhelming trying to sort through all the museums, galleries, restaurants and cafes. Here, we use our experience of Amsterdam, having lived there for a number of years, to guide you through our favourite bits. As always with our city guides, we try to keep everything affordable, unique and fun. Below we give you a brief introduction to our life in 'dam. In the pretty De Pijp neighbourhood, within walking distance of the city centre, you can find a number of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. Furthermore, in the middle of De Pijp is Albert Cuypmarkt, a market which first began in 1905. Now, you can find anything from flowers, fruit and veg to health and beauty products! On the market you can also find a classic dutch indulgence at its best; the Stroopwafel. Stroopwafels can be found in pretty much any Dutch supermarket or tourist shop, however it is a MUST to have a fresh one made for you at a local market stall!
